We firmly believe that the projects that make us grow are those that challenge us, unite us and make us proud. They nourish not only our expertise, but also our sense of belonging to a demanding and fulfilling human adventure.
This is exactly what this event registration platform project represented for an international customer: a structuring initiative with high added value, combining technical complexity, intercultural collaboration and relational excellence.
Interview with Raphaëlle, who looks back on a mission carried out with rigor, passion and commitment.
I recently had the opportunity to pilot the implementation of an event registration platform for an international client. This ambitious project included the integration of an online payment solution, as well as a complete connection with the organization's existing CRM and website.
From the outset, I worked with multidisciplinary teams, both technical and functional, spread over several countries. Each team had its own expectations, business processes - some of them very advanced - and constraints. It was therefore essential to establish a relationship of trust with all our contacts, in order to fully understand their specific needs.
The requirements gathering phase was particularly strategic. I made a point of actively listening to each stakeholder, using visual tools such as workflows and flipcharts. This enabled me to formalize user storieswith a strong visual impact, facilitating overall understanding of the project by everyone, including non-technical people. This approach made it easier to grasp the IT issues at stake, as well as the technical constraints that were sometimes underestimated.
Once the requirements had been clarified and validated, I carried out a benchmark of existing solutions, taking into account the legal and financial aspects. This enabled me to propose the most appropriate tool, which was then validated by management.
Integration took place in close collaboration with the technical teams, located in Geneva but also in other countries. I made it a point of honor to foster fluid communication, respecting everyone's cultures, languages and operating methods. Regular updates, active listening to their challenges, and the use of management tools such as Jiraand Asanaguaranteed the quality of deliverables and compliance with deadlines.
Throughout the roll-out, I maintained constant communicationwith end-users, sharing progress, deliverables and overall planning. I also set up a network of business ambassadors to test the tool in advance, gather their feedback, and rapidly iterate according to their needs.
The result exceeded all expectations:
- 60 business usersfully convinced and committed,
- Over 3,000 event registrations after one year of use,
- Significant simplification of business processes,
- Above all, the work of the IT teams has been enhanced, with closer collaboration with the business units and the emergence of new ideas.
Despite some technical challenges, this project was a real success and remains a source of great pride for me. It enabled me to strengthen my attention to detail, my interpersonal skills, as well as my expertise in project management and business analysis.
It was both a demanding and deeply rewarding experience, one I won't forget.
