Discover the story of Thibault, Antaes consultant. A skilful blend of professionalism and altruism, learn more about the people who make Antaes what it is every day.

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Thibault, 32 years old. Professionally, I've been working in IT for a good ten years. I've mainly developed my experience in backend and integration systems, as well as on digitization projects, always with service providers. This has given me broad experience with a wide range of customers and colleagues, from wealthtech start-ups to local SMEs, and even event management as far afield as China.

Your profession in 3 words

Study, analysis and design of software architectures.

What are you working on at the moment?

I work as a software architect on a cantonal eGovernment solution. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, we provide the population with digitally accessible state and municipal services. As a public service, we focus on accessibility and providing services that make people's lives easier. It's not for everyone to be able to take part in this kind of pioneering, cross-functional project, which affects all areas of government.

What are your hobbies?

Over the last few years, I've focused mainly on building and developing a project with other volunteers that we're very proud of: reCYCLO. It's an association, and we promote soft and active mobility, the reuse of resources, and social integration. Theelevator pitch is simple: we recover bicycles, put them back on their feet - on wheels, in fact, and rent them out. This enables us to be self-financing and to have a foothold in Lausanne. On the integration front, we have a funding partnership with OSEO Vaud and the BCI (Bureau Cantonal de l'Intégration) to provide a traineeship manager who takes on people from immigrant backgrounds or in social and professional reintegration. They learn French while doing a bit of mechanics.

What does Antaes mean to you?

Let's start with an image:
Antaès means being at the top, because the A is the first letter of the alphabet :-)
To continue with the letters, with the accent on the è, it's a local, French-speaking anchor.

And all with accessible pronunciation, just like the management (notably Pascal Vallet), who are happy to chat with new employees.

If you were a personality?

Buster Keaton (editor's note: Buster Keaton was an American actor, director, screenwriter and producer during the silent film period).
The characters he played were often confronted with faulty machinery, difficult sets or absurd situations. But he always found a way out, thanks to his unique style of transforming the set into an active element in his scenes. What an enviable gift, to be able to find energy in an inert or unintended object!

As a hiking enthusiast, do you have a particular place to recommend?

You don't have to go far to find beautiful places just around the corner. Take the train to Puidoux station. Pass behind the station to reach the Lavaux terraces on the other side. You'll arrive at Chemin de la Tour de Marsens, where you'll feel as if you're suspended above the lake!
