Could Switzerland impose a fine such as that of France against Google?

On 6th February, Diane, Consultant at Antaes and expert in the field of GDPR, explained to Le Monde Economique that the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties) in France, had imposed a record fine against Google LLC in application of GDPR. But could such a sanction be applicable in Switzerland? Maybe not, or to the detriment of its residents.
